Some may consider them longshots for the win, but the journey ain’t over till the winners are announced.
In any beauty competition, there will always be favorites and non-favorites. And among the non-favorites, there are those we tend to overlook just because we are more focused on the hype and attention given to the perceived frontrunners.
In Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014, three ladies could be considered the underdogs. They are Candy Cumayas of Bohol, Jackielyn Dulay of Nueva Ecija and Aivy Mae Castro of Daanbantayan. People tend to notice them in fleeting moments, but quickly gaze their eyes to the ladies more talked-about. In my opinion, though, one (or two) of them has the likelihood of stealing the limelight and figuring out well in the finals.
There is a refreshing quality in this trio. And only if we take the time to observe them up close and personal will their inherent qualities become clear.
