Val’s emotional reaction after making it to the Top 10 of BWAP
Thankful and tearful. Those were the immediate reactions of Miss Philippines Valerie Weigmann after hearing her name being called to the Top 10 of the Beauty With A Purpose Challenge of Miss World 2014. And it really can’t be helped. Our bet literally gave her all in her advocacy for the indigenous people of the Philippines. It’s not like she thought of the project at the last minute and made all sort of promotional videos and campaign pitches just to make her bid more complete. She actually started the
Musikaramay fund-raising –
including her treks to the far-flung communities in Mayantoc, Tarlac – long before she even screened for and won the Miss World Philippines crown.

From this point, all we can do is hope that she makes it all the way to the Top 5 finalists for BWAP and possibly, the Beauty With A Purpose win that carries with it a great number of points that would make any middling or leading contender shoot right smack to the top of the heap or near the top of the rankings during the final tally.
Excellent work, Val! Keep it up, girl! :-D
P.S. The video of BWAP Project has not been uploaded by MWO in their YouTube Channel just yet. It’s something really worth waiting for. ;-)
