Jovi Lasay (left) and Carl Lagaña are two of this year's Official Candidates for Mr. Republic of the Philippines

But you see, that part of the competition where each one of them will be transformed into dashing gentlemen is something that makes me admire the contenders even more. There will always be something about wearing a suit (or tuxedo, if you will) that shows a candidate’s over-all appeal. I’m no prude. But formal wear turns the boy into a man. Quite ironically, it brings out hidden charms that can only be visible when he slips into a coat-and-bowtie. The moves become more refined and the walk is transformed into manly strides that bespeak of an effort to get one’s solid attention.
Such is the case with two of the Mr. Republic of the Philippines 2015 Official Candidates – Jon Jovi Lasay from Laguna and Carl Alfred Lagaña of Iloilo City. They project far more attractive sides in their Arielle Agasang formal numbers. In swimwear, their aura is plain junior – neither boys nor gentlemen. In the photos above, they have become clear samples of handsome clean-cut Filipinos. :-)
P. S. You can still vote for Jovi Lasay or Carl Lagaña or your other favorites as Mr. Popularity of Mr. Republic of the Philippines 2015 by liking its Facebook page and clicking on the like button of your choice. ;-)
