There she is, Apriel Smith, Sinulog Festival Queen 2012
Since Sinulog Festival in the Queen City of the South has already started this week (with the Grand Parade Day happening on Sunday, January 17), I thought it would be best timing to feature another potential Bb. Pilipinas 2016 from Cebu who also happens to be Sinulog Festival Queen of 2012.
Her name is Apriel Smith (yes, with an E), aged 20, and with a very nice height of 5’9.5″. This girl, who is also known as the daughter of late PBA cager Daryl Smith, is a Tourism major at University of San Carlos who loves playing competitive volleyball. With her vertical reach, this girl can really spike, toss and serve with intensity. But apart from that, she has also gone into ramp and photographic modelling. And this is where she definitely got the right mix of runway skills and camera projection that has helped her land a number of good projects in Cebu and elsewhere in the Visayas region.
While her anticipated application with Bb. Pilipinas 2016 is not set in stone yet, Apriel is hoping that she can get the nod of potential trainers to further enhance her chances of making it to the screening day. I’m definitely keeping my fingers crossed because this black beauty – who reminds me somehow of Ariana Miyamoto of Japan – could be a hidden gem just waiting to be polished into a nice piece of jewelry.
