image Mothers know best, or so the saying goes. So when initially-independent Crescent Anne Samaco surprised everyone at the screening by claiming one of the Top 40 spots as Official Candidates of Bb. Pilipinas 2016, she got me interested all of a sudden. Of course, I wasn’t aware yet that she is an eternally busy Flight Attendant of Philippine Airlines for its trans-pacific routes and all. So where did my sniffing around led me? Her mom, Virginia, who else?

I have always trusted moms, especially the ones whose sincerity I can immediately tell at the onset. Read about Crescent from the heart of her #1 supporter now.

Crescent is an alumna of Miriam College from pre-school all through college with the degree AB International Studies major in International Politics minor in Peace Studies. She was born and raised in Quezon City having one older brother and three younger sisters. She grew up in a close knit family. She currently works as a cabin crew.

Crescent is a daughter any mother would wish to have. She brings us so much pride and joy especially when she graduated in college. She was the sole Magna Cum Laude Awardee of Miriam College batch 2012 and received the highest distinction award, Sister Miriam Thornton Award and the following prestigious awards: the ADSA Meritorious Leadership Award and Pax Christi Meritorious Leadership Performance Award . She even got a Diplomatic Award in the 2011 Model United Nations held in San Francisco, California. But what struck me most was her being a Gawad Mag-aaral 2012 (Huwarang Mag-aaral) Awardee. I would say she’s not just a loving daughter and a loving sister to her siblings, she also loves to help other people. I remember back in high school, she made a bucket list. So far, everything in her bucket list has been fulfilled… she graduated with the highest honors, she became a professional model at one time, she’s now a flight attendant of PAL, she already bought a land for us and soon to build our new house, and now she is a candidate of Bb. Pilipinas. It was really funny because all of us, including Crescent, were not expecting that she would be chosen as one of the official candidates of Bb. Pilipinas. We must admit that she doesn’t possess a pretty face. In fact, she’s the ugliest among her sisters and she knows it. That’s why she’s intimidated knowing for a fact that this is her first time ever to join a beauty pageant. What keeps her motivated are the kind words she receives from people who knows her well that she can make it because she is a good person and she has a good heart. Knowing Crescent, she will give her best on the best way she knows how for this pageant, win or lose.

Before I thought Crescent would be a nun because she’s a religious person. She’s my eldest daughter but she’s more like a mother to us. She is very responsible and organized. She’s a righteous person and well-disciplined. She would even scold us if we do something bad like if we tell something bad about someone because she hates gossiping. Although she’s well-traveled, her life may be boring because she doesn’t have any vices. We even thought she would be a spinster because she never had a boyfriend since birth. It’s good she finally decided to have one at age 25. She is very humble that’s why she would always call my attention whenever I brag about their achievements. I am a proud mother because all my 5 children are high achievers. They are all my pride and joy.

I remember Crescent would always tell me when she was a little kid that someday I’ll be proud of her. Yes, indeed! With all her achievements, I can proudly say that Crescent is the definition of a woman leader with confidence, beauty and brains.

I have nothing much to say about her because she’s just a simple girl living a simple life.

Below is a photo grid that shows Crescent with her beloved mom, Virginia.
