Niña Sherra Tagalog is a 23 year-old Administrative Aide who hails from Palo, Leyte. Without a doubt, she has one of the most refreshingly beautiful faces among the forty-seven (47) Official Candidates of Miss Philippines Earth 2016.
But is she all pretty looks on the surface? Not at all. The girl’s got brains.
And why does Niña Sherra want to be the next Miss Philippines Earth?
“I want to be Miss Philippines Earth 2016 because I want to inspire my fellow Leyteños to work harder in protecting and preserving the environment especially after what happened to Leyte when Super Typhoon Yolanda heavily struck our Region. I want to share to the whole world the importance of taking care of the environment and the effects of Climate Change if we continue to harm Mother Nature.”
And her environmental advocacy?
“Ecotourism is about uniting environmental conservation, communities and sustainable travel. My only tip for my Province is to strictly implement proper waste disposal to travelers/tourists and even to the locals. It is very important to maintain environmental and cultural awareness and respect, while providing positive experiences for both visitors and hosts. Everyone should learn to give equal importance to the environment’s welfare and the tourism sustainability.
