Maybel Perilla: Going for the Gold(en) Universe 

As of (Word)press time, Miss Golden Universe Philippines 2016 Maybel Perilla may have already arrived in Manaus, Brazil where she will represent the country (plus the Filipino Community of Italy) and compete to win the Miss Golden Universe 2016 title. This contest may not be as big and globally popular as the Miss Universe Pageant we all look up to every year. But still, it would be nice if we can throw in our support for our beautiful bet who happens to be a Rome-based full-blooded Pinay who was crowned Miss Bachelorette Philippines Italy 2015.

Maybel’s mentors, the MB Philippines Organization, made sure that all her preparations were in order from the wardrobe to the national costume to the gowns, swimsuits and cocktail dresses. And by now, she is more than ready to face up to the challenge in an event that will be Latina-dominated and where she will easily stand out with her beautifully soft Asian features and regal bearing.

Best of luck in Manaus, Maybel! And may you bring home the honor of becoming the Philippines’ first Miss Golden Universe.
