There is and will always be a tactful and diplomatic way of answering interview questions from the Press, and it is definitely not the way Miss Colombia for Miss Universe 2016 Andrea Tovar did to one.
In the news clip above, Andrea was shown answering the questions of a reporter in a way that was neither feisty nor frank. It was downright unacceptable regardless of the nature of the query. If someone asks you about your nose change (and how the results did not really compliment her face), you don’t answer that it’s none of the reporter’s business. You go around the question in a manner that will not fan the flames of intrigue. And when asked what your preparations for a pageant, you certainly don’t dodge by saying that you don’t want to comment anything about the subject and then tap the camera with your palm to cover the lens and signal that the questioning is over.
The members of the Press are powerful. And going against the grain of tactfulness is definitely not the way to go, especially not when the mission ahead is pretty much crucial following the events that ended Miss Universe 2015 which also involved another Colombian.
Oh well…
