CQGQ and Miss World Philippines have
returned to its previous network back in 2012. And with the new partnership with Viva Entertainment, this year’s edition will now be aired over at TV5 after three years (plus the initial 2011 production) in GMA-7. What could this mean? A more glossy finals? I hope so. The independence dictated by the Miss World Organization from other multi-titled national beauty pageants has created both good and not-so-good points to consider. The exclusivity of the title has become more prominent. But with that, the general impression of potential joiners in a competition that offers only one (1) chance for an international representation is already a common sentiment when being convinced to sign up and commit to the same.

So what can be offered in lieu of the fact that only one winner can be long remembered in a particular batch? Perhaps, it would do well to create a tighter focus on what Miss World is all about, and that would be the Beauty With A Purpose Project of each one. Why not start a docu-type of reality program which follows the trail of each candidate on how she goes about her personal advocacy? That way, the viewers can really feel the effort of each one to go beyond the pageant glamour and see how sincere they really are in building a platform for their cause.

Either that, or give a more solid prize package (read: irresisitible) by which beautiful and deserving ladies would really be lured to join and give their ultimate best.

Just my thoughts, dear readers.:-)
