This will be my one and only blog post about the allegedly voice-recorded conversation between former Bb. Pilipinas-Universe titleholders Janine Tugonon and Venus Raj that had them allegedly talking about Miss Universe Philippines 2014 Mary Jean “MJ” Lastimosa on the subject of, among others, where the latter’s wealth is allegedly coming from and the like.
I did some digging of my own.
According to rumors, the conversation was allegedly recorded inside a noisy dressing room.
First off, Janine has denied that she was the one in the audio recording, and that whoever “imitated” her voice has done a good job of doing so. And if it was supposedly inside a Bb. Pilipinas dressing room, she added that there is simply no way she would have taken the sweet time to sit down and talk to Venus about something allegedly like that since everyone was so eternally busy and even the other candidates were milling around the two of them.
And since we all know that Janine is now US-based and could only spare a limited number of days surrounding the finals night of Bb. Pilipinas 2014 last late March to the first few days of April, the only other time they met up was during a very private dinner she hosted where the only invitees were Venus, Jonas Gaffud, Lloyd & Shamcey Lee, Ariella Arida and Arnold Mercado.
It is sad that both Janine and Venus are being casted stones about the alleged audio recording.
And whoever started the whole thing should keep in mind a couple of repercussions, such as putting MJ in possible danger of being singled out for investigation by the BIR as to where she gets her alleged wealth or if she even pays the right taxes. Not a far-fetched outcome given the penchant of the bureau for celebrities/high-profile personalities in the past number of years now.
So I’m done with that.
I know that this post won’t stop the talks. It will even be refuted by those who allegedly know the alleged truth. Be that as it may, I wish that the one who actually made the alleged voice recording will bravely come out in the open if he/she can spill the finer details on how and when the alleged conversation took place. That is, if it indeed took place.
P.S. Just to add a little spice into the mix, allow me to share two blind items.
1) Who are these ladies – officially part of the big group of MJ’s “present sisters” – actually saying not-so-pleasant remarks behind her back? The statements – while not damaging – could be enough to cause cracks in the sisterhood.
2) Who are these ladies no longer happy with their present group because of the high number of trainees and pageant joiners already crowding the camp? In particular, they are saddened that one or two handlers have started to neglect them, as if the world revolves only around one person.
