Her name is Franchesca Diaz. Do you remember her from Miss Manila 2015?
Her complete name is Maria Franchesca Diaz-Floirendo. She is 20, stands 5’7″ and is related to former Miss Universe Gloria Diaz (and curiously not to the husband of also former Miss Universe Margarita Moran).
Franchesa is a member of Star Magic Angels of ABS-CBN, and has actually been appearing in some of its shows the past number of months. Pageant-wise, though, you will still remember that she competed during Miss Manila 2015 where she placed 3rd Runner-Up to Kaycie Fajardo. At the time, her styling and figure still needed a lot of change and physical transformation (makeover, if you will). And I bet she took some time off to train for Bb. Pilipinas 2016, as reported to me by trusted moles in the industry.
If and when she finally shows up for application and screening at the Araneta Center, trust the buzz to grow even stronger. It is already inevitable for some members of the Press to actually play around the “Gloria Diaz relative” angle, while carrying both her surname and Margie’s married surname. But that should soon die down because Bb. Pilipinas 2016 is fast becoming the most intense edition of the nationals ever. It will be the search for the best. If Franchesca proves to be all that, then well and good! ;-)
