I want to give the spotlight to all the Binibinis, so allow me to feature Zahara Mae O. Soriano, Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Official Candidate #16.
This Aces & Queens entry has not been making a big splash so far. It’s not that she is making less hay compared to the others, but the roster is simply overflowing with strong contenders. Part of the challenge is to upstage the consistently featured ones by showing their uniqueness as Filipinas. But how does one exactly do that? If you ask me, the first step begins from within and not to be exclusively focused on one’s turn onstage. Confidence is not just about making sharp turns, perfect twirls and fierce poses. The facial aura that one individual exudes is also a reflection of genuineness in character and the strong desire to win.
And just like election campaigning, there is also a significant network to be made within the confines of the organization, BPCI that is. The ladies should know that it is equally important to blend well with the people running the day-to-day activities and not be contended with letting the aggressive ones do all the bonding. During the homestretch, I reckon that Madame would usually sit down with her trusted personnel to discuss on the personality merits of the girls. To be part of a “recommended group” is as important as getting both feet inside the door of the preliminaries.
So going back to Zahara, what is your take on this Binibini’s chances? Is she moving up, middling in the line-up or gradually sliding down?
